CIISA publishes first user-led research

CIISA is committed to putting its users at the heart of its design process – ensuring it is shaped by the people and organisations that will use its services.

To help that process CIISA commissioned PA Consulting to carry out the first user-led Discovery exercise for CIISA, exploring what people want to see when deciding whether to report a concern to CIISA as an independent third-party.

Too often we have seen examples where members of the creative workforce have felt unable to report harm due to power imbalances, job insecurity fears and concerns about potential career repercussions. CIISA is committed to changing this.

Jen Smith, CEO of CIISA said:

“The UK’s creative industries have long been a space of imagination, innovation, and cultural influence, giving us much to celebrate and take pride in. Yet, behind the spotlight, many individuals have endured harm in silence – held back by fear, power imbalances, and a lack of trusted avenues for support.

We commissioned PA Consulting to carry out this important research to explore what people want to see when deciding whether to report a concern to CIISA as an independent
third-party. The report captures the insights, expectations, and needs of individuals across the creative sector and will directly inform the design of CIISA’s services”.

The report, Building the foundation for reporting harm in the creative industries, is available to read here.
