CIISA appoints first Chair of its new Finance Board

The Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority, CIISA, is proud to announce that Maureen Kerr has been appointed as the Chair of CIISA’s Board of Finance. Maureen is a senior partner at Arthur D Little, leading the media and entertainment team in the UK. Maureen has over 20 years’ experience advising senior executives and investors in the media and entertainment industry recommending strategic change and supporting key investment decisions. Her work covers new business entry strategy and implementation, mergers, and acquisitions, advisory, valuations, business plan reviews and due diligence.

Like the Advertising Standards Authority, CIISA will have a main board and committee structure and a second and separate finance board. The CIISA finance board will comprise experienced professionals whose sole purpose is to oversee its funding. The reason for a two-company model like this is to reinforce CIISA’s independence.

Maureen Kerr says: “I am deeply honoured and thrilled to accept the nomination as the new Chair of CIISA’s Finance Board. This is a pivotal moment for the organisation, and I am committed to moving it forward by building an effective Finance Board that will deliver against our strategic goals. Together, we will work tirelessly to ensure the continued success and growth of CIISA.”,

Jen Smith, CIISA interim CEO says, “Maureen’s appointment demonstrates the high calibre, experience, and professionalism of many senior leaders from across the creative industries who are supporting the very sound legal, technical, and financial foundations we have put in place to build CIISA.

CIISA is widely recognised as an inevitable necessity for keeping our talented workforce safe. I look forward to welcoming Maureen into this pivotal role which I know she will do with absolute dedication, commitment, and attention to detail.”
